Final registration numbers, names, and sites are posted.

We've also made some minor changes to the schedule of events, including this: Starman has added a Saturday night stargazing session in case it's cloudy (or worse) on Friday.

The gear contests (we have three of 'em) have fabulous prizes, but none will look as good on your mantel as the trophy given to the person with the most useless item. Check it out.

To keep occupied in the waning days before the kickoff, check out these new additions to the Web site:

The schedule of events now includes a few pictures from last year.
A new page provides information about meals at the kickoff and about nearby restaurants.
The bandana page now includes a picture of Gottago, the primary benefactor behind this terrific gift to kickoff attendees and 2006 thru hikers.
The organizers' mug shots have been updated with a new (actually older) picture of Freefall and a new picture of the organizers doing what they do best.

I've modified the campground map to highlight the location of the Class of 1977 encampment in site 58. Appropriately, the highlight color is gray.

In addition to the geezers in 58, a few of us from 1977 will be in the ADZPCTKO organizers area, specifically, sites 14 and 16.

I've added a new page to the Web site that provides information about the meals available at the kickoff. In addition, the page includes the Teutonic Knight's up-to-the-minute report on nearby dining establishments, plus a list of other restaurants gleaned from an on-line directory.

Campsite updates

Early Friday morning, notifications went to everyone who has registered. Some folks made corrections to the information I had; those corrections have now been made on the Web site. We've also had a handful of cancellations (thanks for letting us know!), which has allowed us to find a spot for everyone who was on the waiting list! We now have a total of 618 folks registered, and over 500 staying in the campground on Friday and Saturday nights.

We've divvied up the campground and managed to find space for everyone who registered by last Sunday. (We have a waiting list for folks who registered since then.)

E-mail notifications will be going out to everyone soon, but if you can't wait:

Go to the list of registered attendees and click the link for the first letter of your last name (on the left side of the page).
Find your name in the list; to the right you'll find your site number.
If you want to see who else is sharing this piece of paradise, click the Up link to return to the registration summary. Then click the appropriate site number link.
And if you want to see just where that patch of grass lies, go to the campground map.
